QuadLoop Technologies is a clean energy social enterprise that converts electronic waste into solar lamps and green home systems, designed and manufactured in Nigeria with a reduced environmental impact. By collecting post-consumer and post-production materials such as lithium-ion batteries and plastics, QuadLoop develops technologies that are accessible to rural and peri-urban communities, reducing environmental impacts.

"Our flagship product is the ÌDùnnú portable solar lamp, made from 70% recycled e-waste materials," CEO Dozie Igweilo tells Renewable Matter. "This lamp not only provides illumination but can also be used to recharge mobile devices via a USB port, meeting the energy needs of communities with limited access to electricity."

QuadLoop's approach to sustainability extends beyond the simple production of energy devices. By using e-waste to create solar products, the company significantly reduces the volume of electronic waste ending up in landfills, mitigating the environmental risks associated with the improper disposal of these materials. Furthermore, by providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions, QuadLoop enhances the quality of life in rural communities, facilitating educational and commercial activities that depend on access to electricity.

The startup works closely with Hinckley and E-Terra, Nigeria's two official e-waste collectors, partnering on the supply and disposal of unwanted waste. Additionally, through its collaboration with Footprints Africa, QuadLoop aims to measure the end-to-end energy and emissions generated from the collection of raw materials to the finished product.
