Smartex is the Portuguese company that, using artificial intelligence and machine learning, inspects fabrics in real time with precision and speed. Thanks to cameras, sensors, and a lighting system, it detects irregularities and defects invisible to the human eye.
Smartex systems are installed on existing knitting machines, regardless of brand, and are mainly used to interrupt production and prevent waste when errors occur. While working in a textile company, founder and CEO Gilberto Loureiro observed the problematic relationship that exists in the textile sector between scale and automation, presenting an obstacle to clean, transparent, and efficient production.

Users can set their own quality standards to determine the automatic classification of knitted fabric rolls based on the gravity of detected defects and implement uniform quality standards during the entire production process.
