Food, climate, health. These are the three keywords of the series of online conferences and debates organized by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) in collaboration with Climate Action. "The Great Food Challenge", starting from Thursday 3 September, will be an event in three parts, which will explore the issues of food security in times of health and climate crisis with representatives of international NGOs and industry experts.
Food security and Covid-19
The first appointment is scheduled for Thursday 3 September, 3.00 pm CEST. The speakers will answer the question: How do we rebuild global food security to accelerate a resilient recovery? Starting from one fact: food insecurity doubled in 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 emergency.

Climate, sustainable development and food
The second part of the event will take place on October 16, on the occasion of World Food Day. Representatives of NGOs, companies and governments will try to answer the question: how will we feed 10 billion people by 2050? Technological innovations and possible revolutions that could transform the agri-food sector will be explored.
Finally, the third appointment is scheduled for December 3rd. Sustainable development, mitigation and adaptation to climate change will be discussed, with a focus on the role of finance and how future climate-smart investments can align the agri-food sector to the UN SDGs.
