The Land Where Oceans and Forests are at the Heart of the Bioeconomy

In recent years, Portugal has gone from being the sick man of Europe to a positive role model, with a growing economy (2.7% GDP growth in 2017) and an increased focus on biological resources. Going forward, the hope is that the country’s waters, forests and agriculture will be the driving forces behind their economy. Helping achieve this objective is the primary role of BLC3 – Technology and Innovation Campus, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the development of second and third-generation biorefineries.
