Sugar is Better than Oil


The newly opened industrial plant in Bottrighe will produce 30,000 tonnes of bio-butanediol a year. It will be produced without using a single drop of oil, thanks to a bacterium which will operate as a totally organic and renewable nano-refinery. This represents a new world record for Italian green chemistry.
