Towards a Crackdown on Food Waste

According to FAO, one-third of global food production goes wasted and contributes an astounding 7% of GHG emissions. Besides being unethical – 795 milllion people hardly eat enough to stay healthy – this means squandering 360 million euro worth of food every year, which is equivalent to twice the GDP of Greece. How Germany and France are tackling food waste reduction.
